2. Information used now
Website and security logs
Hosting, network and security providers may record IP address, browser or device information, requested URL, referrer, date, time, response status and diagnostic events. This is used to operate, secure, diagnose and protect the website.
Email correspondence
If you email SenderCompass, the service receives your email address, name if supplied, message, attachments you choose to send and normal message metadata. Do not send passwords, private keys, confidential authentication reports or unnecessary personal data.
Analytics choice in local storage
The browser stores the value of your analytics choice in local storage so the site can remember whether you accepted or rejected analytics. The key is described in the Cookie Policy.
Google Analytics after consent
Google Analytics will not load unless you accept. After consent, information may include page URL and title, referrer, approximate location, browser and device characteristics, page views, scroll events and outbound-link events.
3. Purposes and lawful bases
| Activity | Purpose | Expected lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Security and routine logs | Operate, secure and diagnose the website. | Legitimate interests. |
| Email correspondence | Respond to enquiries, corrections and requests. | Legitimate interests or steps requested before a contract, depending on the enquiry. |
| Google Analytics | Understand in aggregate which pages and journeys are useful. | Consent. |
| Legal records | Establish, exercise or defend legal claims and meet legal duties. | Legal obligation or legitimate interests, as applicable. |
4. Analytics safeguards
Analytics is configured for basic consent mode. No Google Analytics request should be made before opt-in. Advertising storage, ad personalisation, Google Signals, User ID, user-provided data and Google Ads linking are not intended to be enabled. Rejecting analytics does not limit the website.
The intended property-level event and user retention period is two months. First-party analytics cookies may remain in the browser for up to 395 days unless deleted earlier. Cookie duration and property retention are different controls.
5. Recipients and processors
Information may be processed by hosting, network, security, email and analytics providers where necessary for the purposes above. It may also be disclosed to professional advisers, regulators, courts or law enforcement where required or reasonably necessary. SenderCompass does not sell personal information.
6. International processing
Some technology providers may process information outside the UK. Contact info@sendercompass.com for information about the providers and safeguards relevant to your personal information. Google explains its processing in its Privacy Policy and data-processing terms.
7. Retention
- Routine server and security logs should normally be kept for no longer than 90 days unless needed for an incident, dispute or legal duty.
- Routine email correspondence should normally be kept for no longer than 24 months after the last substantive contact unless longer retention is justified.
- The analytics consent choice remains in local storage until it is changed, cleared or the storage is removed.
- Google Analytics property-level event and user retention is intended to be two months.
- Records required for tax, contracts, disputes, fraud prevention or legal obligations may need a different documented period.
8. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances and lawful basis, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal data, object to processing, request portability and withdraw consent. Consent should be as easy to withdraw as it is to give.
You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Contact details and current guidance are available at ico.org.uk. Contact SenderCompass first if you would like the operator to investigate.
9. Children
The site and services are not intended for children or under-18s. SenderCompass does not knowingly design content, accounts or marketing for children. If this changes, a specific child-privacy assessment and age-appropriate information will be required before launch.
10. Security
Reasonable organisational and technical safeguards should be used, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Report suspected privacy or security issues to the contact address without sending secrets.
11. Future features
Before any newsletter, account, paid product or software service is launched, this notice must be updated with the real data fields, purpose, lawful basis, processors, transfers, retention, user controls and point-of-collection notice. A future feature must not collect personal information merely because this notice anticipates it.
12. Contact and changes
Privacy questions and rights requests can be sent to info@sendercompass.com. Material changes will be dated and brought to affected people’s attention where required.
